What Are Invisalign® Clear Aligners?
If you were to see a person smile using Invisalign, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell that they were undergoing orthodontic treatment. That’s because Invisalign uses thin, crystal-clear plastic mouth trays that fit over and gently shift the teeth into a more desirable orientation. How Invisalign® Works
Patients typically change aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, depending on what we are trying to accomplish. You remove them only to eat and brush your teeth. Each replacement aligner will move your teeth, little by little until they have reached the ideal position. Plan to visit our office every 9 weeks so that we can monitor your progress. Treatment time and the total number of aligners will vary from patient to patient.
Invisalign TEEN Clear Aligners
Invisalign is ideal for adults who want to maintain a professional image, but it’s also perfect for image-conscious teens. With Invisalign TEEN, the regular Invisalign treatment is slightly altered to make it more suited for younger patients. Firstly, each aligner tray has a small dot towards the back that slowly fades as the tray is worn, helping teens and their parents keep track of the treatment. Plus, each TEEN treatment comes with FREE replacement trays in case one ever gets “lost” or broken.

In order to create an effective and comfortable-fitting Invisalign aligners, Dr. Valant first has to take an impression of the teeth. Instead of doing this with a mold and gooey dental putty, he can instead quickly and easily scan a person’s mouth using our iTero scanner. This device is able to render a highly accurate model of the teeth and bite within a matter of minutes. Then, Dr. Valant can use the model to develop a patient’s treatment plan and even show them what their teeth will look like after Invisalign, giving them a preview of the future which can be very motivating.
